Recommendations for the station areas were developed with input, ideas, and priorities discussed at a series of public meetings, surveys, and small-group discussions from 2018 through 2022. The plan would support public and private investments in housing, jobs, programming and more to bring the community’s vision to life. The coming rail service brings a once in a lifetime opportunity to support Bronxites with access to jobs, housing, amenities, and more. The stations are part of the MTA's Penn Station Access project, which will connect the East Bronx directly to Manhattan Penn Station. The regional rail service is estimated to arrive in 2027 with four new train stations at Hunts Point, Parkchester/Van Nest, Morris Park, and Co-Op City.
